Anaerobic respiration always releases less energy; it meets the requirements of the microbes growing in anaerobic conditions. Fermentation is a commercially very important method.
Anaerobic respiration is used in the following processes:
- To manufacture of alcohol
- Curing of tobacco, tea leaves, etc.
- Anaerobic respiration is used in formation of curd from milk
- To manufacture of vinegar, an industrially very important compound.
